AWANA

(Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed)

2 Timothy 2:15   Do your best to present yourself to GOD as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.  AWANA was founded in 1950 by Lance Latham & Art Rorheim in Streamwood, IL.  There are over 12,200 U.S. Churches and 6,000 international churches in 110 countries. You can visit AWANA at awana.org

The first goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and the second goal of AWANA is to train them to serve him.

American Baptist Men

The men of Moreland Baptist get together at different times during the year for a breakfast with the men doing the cooking. We are active with our local Northumberland Baptist Men’s group. We meet three times a year in January, April and October for dinner and a program. We either meet at a participating church or a local restaurant. Some of our men have participated in mission work tours. Recently our men went to Mississippi and Texas to work on housing projects. We welcome men of all ages who would like to be a part of our Moreland Baptist Men’s group.

American Baptist Women

The Moreland Baptist Church has an active American Baptist Women's group. We meet the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM, February - December. We do different programs throughout the year, including a family picnic in August and a mystery auction in December with the proceeds going to the current Region ABW Project. February has been our Laughter Therapy month - 'What a way to lighten our hearts!' Our current mission projects include rolling bandages, baby kits, school kits, and health kits for our missionaries to use. We also send these kits to areas hit by disasters. We welcome women of all ages to join us.

Visitation Ministry

Personal contact is taken seriously at Moreland Baptist.  Each week the board of Deacon and Deaconess provide CD recordings of our church service and make personal visits to members and friends who are in the hospital,  nursing homes, as well as Shut Ins who are not able to attend Sunday service. Smiles and blessing are seen and felt by everyone!
